Some will say that broken things
Should be left behind in disrepair
Some will say that it is easier to move on
Though one will fight their heart knowing it better to stay
This Christmas I thought of you
And how maybe I was in the wrong place
I made the best of time with close friends
The smell of food and laughter filled the air
A wonderful time at best
But I know that my time has passed here
My mind wandered
In truth no one has really ever known me like you
The good, the bad, and the ugly
But if you believe in good
Let there be hope for restoration
And if you believe in hope
May the doors slowly open to let life in
How I don't make promises easily
Nor take them lightly to be swiftly broken
