Poem: Not the Same

Not the same
I try to come up with reasons
Why it is okay
To stack up facts, memories, and other things
To find relief of you
You say
She's strong
She's beautiful
She doesn't need me...
Well maybe those things are true
But as I sip martinis on roof tops
And engage in a dark night fantasy world
Then laugh with comic ease
I remember
It's just not the same
My heart doesn't understand
So much of why
It just doesn't understand
And all it knows is that it's not the same...
